The village, a development partnership between QUT and the Department of Housing, is an innovative mixed use development currently under construction on the former Gona Barracks site and adjacent land at Kelvin Grove.

At an estimated total cost in the order of $500m, the village will comprise over 800 medium density residential units, University facilities, shopping centre and a range of health and recreational facilities.

Infrastructure works including, roads, services and parks etc have been completed and the first University lectures commenced in early 2004.
