Did you know 30% of RCP Australia employees are women?
They are essential to the success of our business and bring invaluable skills, knowledge, balance, empathy, and humour to our offices each day.
In celebration of IWD, we profiled some of the ladies of RCP, where they shared insights into their careers and how working in a male dominated industry they have continued to “march forward.”
Their stories were interesting, inspiring, and fun! Thank you for sharing!
International Women’s Day Events
Better late than never! Cyclone Alfred pushed the occasion back a few weeks for Brisbane, but the women of the RCP Brisbane office were delighted to attend the luncheon at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. They were welcomed by song-woman Maroochy and paralympic gold medallist and world record holder Madison de Rozario was the inspirational guest speaker on the day. They also heard from Celeste Barber and former Irish President, Mary Robinson.
RCP’s Adelaide ladies joined the Property Council SA event at the Adelaide oval with keynote speaker Michelle McNally, and panellists @Anna Roussos, @Edwina Bennett and @Leah Wright
This year’s UN Women theme #AccelerateAction calls upon us all to take tangible, measurable steps toward achieving gender equality.
One of the ways we can help “Accelerate Action” for gender equality is to support the supporters… and this year RCP is supporting the charity organisation UN Women – Australia.
UN Women is a global champion for women and girls and is the UN entity responsible for promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. Central to its vision is empowering the next generation as catalysts for lasting change.
RCP Director, Jennifer Smith said, “I was fortunate be supported by RCP to be appointed a director in 2007. While we have seen growth in the presence of women in construction leadership in recent years, challenges remain and we all need to do our part to seek opportunities for women to join the team, to support and promote their career goals and personal growth.”
