Galileo Group appointed RCP in 2015 to provide project management services for the Arlington Grove residential development located in Dulwich Hill, Sydney. The development includes four residential towers, comprising 246 apartments, 295 basement car parking spaces and a retail tenancy.
The project posed considerable challenges, including being located next to a light rail line and station, and having major sewer and storm water lines which required diversion to enable the development to proceed. The RCP team worked closely with engineers to determine the construction methodology for both the services diversions and building construction, and subsequently obtain approvals from the authorities.
RCP’s skills, experience and programming advice were integral in managing various challenges associated with the construction contractor. Their skill in the development and management of project documentation ensured all project members roles and responsibilities were clearly defined from the outset. As superintendent, RCP effectively promoted strict adherence to contractual requirements and their thorough and professional contract administration mitigated project risks. RCP sought opportunities to achieve programme improvements and reduced cost outcomes, carefully managing the contractor and seeking alternative solutions where possible. This was due in large part to the excellent service provided by Mr Toby Schraer, who was responsible for the project management services from July 2016.
Construction completion was achieved in 2018. This was RCP’s second project with Galileo, following the completion of our Arena development in Brisbane in 2015. RCP have since worked with us on our Palisade development in Miranda, Sydney.
We would not hesitate to recommend them to successfully deliver future projects.
